We are fighting back against Federal cuts to Medicaid!
The Federal Government is in ongoing discussions about a spending plan that puts Medicaid funding at risk.
We need our elected representatives to understand how critical Medicaid is to people with disabilities, and how devastating the proposed cuts would be to people they represent.
Any effort to change or otherwise reform the Medicaid program must consider the impact on people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, in order to prevent unintended harmful consequences.
It is more important than ever that we mobilize our grassroots, engage our congressional delegation, and protect the critical supports and services people with intellectual and developmental disabilities rely on.
Every day, Chapter staff are doing the work to make our mission of providing people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities the ordinary and extraordinary opportunities of life a reality. The Arc New York shares stories from our Chapters and messages from the organization in our CONNECTIONS newsletter to celebrate those efforts and demonstrate how our mission is being realized across the state.
For 75 years, The Arc New York has been at the forefront of the fight for the civil rights and inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Together, we have driven powerful change. But the fight isn’t over. The power of The Arc New York comes from families, self-advocates, dedicated staff, and committed community members working in partnership to demand a better world for people with I/DD. We need your voice today!
